JAMES CARLSTEDT, CPA has over 25 years in public accounting. Jim oversees the office’s tax and accounting services. He specializes in providing tax compliance, tax planning, and QuickBooks implementation and support for clients in a variety of industries. He received a BBA in accounting from the Stetson University.
TONY De SANTIS, CPA joined CJN&W CPAs in 2011 as managing partner. In addition to his accounting and tax background, Tony has developed a broad range of knowledge related to complex governmental and nonprofit accounting and reporting. To enhance his CPA background, Tony developed skills as a business system analyst, executive coach, and diversity trainer. Tony received a BBA and Masters of Accountancy degrees from Stetson University. He has also worked on a theology and pastoral counseling degree with the Washington Theological Union.
JEFFREY JONES, CPA is a managing partner at CJN&W CPAs with over 35 years of experience in public accounting and tax preparation. He serves as a Registered Principal of Lion Street Financial at JK Jones Financial Network and holds a Series 7 securities license as well as the Certified Wealth Consultant designation. Jeff works with a wide range of business in terms of size, entity, and complexity providing accounting, tax, and investment services. Jeff has his BBA from Stetson University and his MBA from the University of Dayton.
BEN SIMMONS, CPA joined the firm in 2012 and serves as the Manager of the Utility Department. Ben also works extensively with Tax Compliance and QuickBooks engagements. Ben is a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Ben is a past board member for his local Meals on Wheels chapter. In his personal life, Ben enjoys his role as a foster parent and is a sports enthusiast.
JEANETTE SUNG, BA, M.Acc., CPA has over 40 years of experience in accounting and joined CJNW Inc. in 2000. She has a BA in Fine Arts from Syracuse University, a Master of Accountancy (tax) from the University of South Florida, and is a CPA. Serving as tax manager, Jeanette specializes in corporation, partnership, individual and non-profit tax returns and small business accounting and is a certified Quick Books Pro Advisor. Jeanette is an accomplished clarinetist, active with the International Clarinet Association (ICA), performing nationally and internationally with the ICA Clarinet Choir. She also plays locally with organizations such as the Tampa Community Concert Band (principal clarinet), the Suncoast Clarinet Quartet, and the Fanfare Concert Winds. She lives in Tampa with her three cats - Buddy, Roxie, and Rebus.
JIM WILSON, CPA is a principal specializing in providing tax preparation and tax planning services for clients in a variety of industries including real estate, small businesses, and estates and trusts. He received a BS in accounting from the University of Florida.
TOM FORD, CPA is an alum of John Carroll University, majored in Accounting. Along with being a Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Ford is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), Florida Government Finance Officers Association, and various other committees. He has over 27 years of public accounting, auditing, tax and consulting experience providing professional services to a variety of industries including construction, real estate, manufacturing and local government units. In addition, he has also served as the Controller for a homebuilder/developer in Ohio and as Director of Accounting for a large real estate lessor/ developer located in Lakeland, Florida. He has experience in providing auditing services to several local government units in Central Florida. Has extensive involvement in the establishment of quality control systems and oversight in the firm-on-firm peer review process for many firms that he has been associated with as well as the enhancement of financial reporting quality.
SHAWN HIGGINBOTHAM, CFP® has worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years. He has worked with everyone from active traders placing complex equity and options trades with a focus on risk management to Private Clients where he assisted high net worth clients develop detailed financial goals and constructed diversified investment portfolios to accomplish those goals. He holds the Certified Financial Planner™ and Professional Plan Consultant™ designations. Shawn is a multi-generation native Floridian living in Apopka, Florida with his wife C.J., who owns a marketing and creative services firm, and their dog Barracuda. Their son Zachary recently graduated from the University of Florida with his B.S. in Food and Resource Economics.
CAROL HOUGHTON is a Florida native and long-time resident of Clearwater, FL. She joined our team in February 1998 as a receptionist and was promoted to bookkeeper with responsibilities including preparing monthly financial statements for the firm and our clients, as well as quarterly and annual payroll tax returns. She also assists the tax department with preparing tax returns and the audit department with the preparation of financial statements. She graduated with an Associates of Arts degree from St. Petersburg Junior College and then graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations/Mass Communications at the University of South Florida. She likes to play the piano and sew.
JUDY GROGAN began working for CJN&W CPAs in September of 1989. Initially hired as secretary to the Utility Partner at the time, her role shortly expanded to include provide secretarial and administrative services for office’s the Tax Partners and the Audit Department Over the time Judy has been with the office, she has without hesitation provided support whenever needed. Some might say her most important role for the office is locating client files that are not where they should be; along with her sleuthing skills, Judy can be counted on to keep the office organized. She currently is the Administrative Assistant for the Clearwater Office and Secretary to the office’s Managing Principal and Tax Secretary. Originally from Louisiana, Judy moved to Florida in 1984. She enjoys the Florida sunshine. Judy has two daughters and a proud grandmother--three grandchildren (1 girl, 2 boys) and three great grandchildren (1 girl, 2 boys).
CHARLES KLEIN, CPA is a graduate of the University of South Florida in Tampa. He has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Florida since 1985. Charles has worked in industry, private and public accounting and has extensive experience in business consulting, budgeting and planning, mergers and acquisitions, audits, reviews and financial reporting. He dedicates his time to providing whatever small business services you require to keep your business on track. Born in Delaware, Charles has been a resident of Florida with his wife since 1980 and has lived in Dunedin since 1982.
DRUE LEE, CPA is a firm believer that people are a company’s greatest asset, and he always strives to exceed client's expectations. He holds a BS in Accounting from the University of South Florida. Drue‘s motto is well done is better than well said. When he’s not working, Drue loves spending time going to USF college football games, Tampa Bay Lightning hockey games, or shooting. He also loves to travel and share stories with the new people he meets. It is no wonder that his family says that he makes a friend wherever he goes. The greatest lesson Drue has learned from the past? Two of the worst personal deficiencies are wasted time and wasted talent. Primary practice areas include consulting, monthly accounting and tax compliance and planning.
MICHAEL HAYES, CPA is a New York native and current resident of Clearwater. He received a BBA in Accounting and a MBA with a specialization in Finance, and is currently licensed in the state of New York as a Certified Public Accountant. Has worked in both public and private accounting with experience in tax, audit, and has served as the Treasurer for his local Kiwanis club. When he is not working, he enjoys going to the beach, reading, and watching sports.
MARIE CLEMENTSON graduated from St. Petersburg College with an accounting degree and has been helping small businesses in west Pasco and north Pinellas County with their tax and accounting needs since 1995. She specializes in monthly and quarterly accounting preparation, payroll processing and reporting, personal and business tax returns and filings. Marie operates from our New Port Richey office and is valued for her customer service.
